Our Earth is a fantastic place! We know so much about it, but there are nooks and crannies, rivers, and forests that have yet to be explored. Artists, musicians, and writers help us understand Earth and create ways to showcase its beauty.
This package includes the following three classes:
- Recycled Inspirations – Have you ever wondered what happens to waste and refuse, and how it impacts our cities and our lives? Recycling is one way we can reduce the impact garbage and waste have on the earth, and on human beings. We’ll take a brief look at the history and importance of recycling and then learn about artists in the 21st Century who do more than recycle unwanted material.
- River of Life-The Mississippi River – The Mississippi River is the second-longest river in North America, flowing 2,350 miles from its source at Lake Itasca, Minnesota, through the center of the continental United States to the Port of New Orleans. It has been immortalized since its discovery in 1541 by famous writers, artists, and composers.
- Seven Wonders of the Natural World – There are many extraordinary things on our planet; the seven we are going to talk about today were not created by man, but by nature, or God. Examples of a human-made wonder of the world would be the pyramids or the Golden Gate Bridge. These sites have been in existence on Earth for hundreds of millions of years and still make enormous contributions to our daily life.
Each class download includes a colorful, image-based PowerPoint Slide Deck (presentation time: 30 – 40 minutes), Microsoft Word Speaker Notes, Songs & Playlist, a Call & Response Poem, and a Creative Workshop Project Lesson Plan (one or two 30-minute sessions).
